This is for the 8x12 version of the product. For the price I was skeptical I'd be satisfied with this shed, but happily I was wrong. I'll echo the comments of some here and strongly recommend that the first thing to do is go through the parts lists and verify you have every part. I did this, and discovered I was missing one piece. It greatly reduced build delays to contact customer support right at the beginning and arrange to have them ship it out In addition I advise wearing gloves for most steps of assembly - the sheet metal pieces are sharp I did this installation myself, and only needed a second person when I was attaching the upper pieces of the rectangular frame near the beginning, but your mileage may vary. Even if I had NO option for a helper I could have managed even this by myself with a little ingenuity. I did find that there were a number of times I couldn't get holes to line up and was forced to drill some new (5/64") holes but that didn't surprise or bother me. Overall I was very impressed with the cleverness of the design. I don't agree with those who might complain that the sheet metal was too thin. Those boxes are HEAVY, and to increase the gauge of the steel would have made them SO heavy as to possibly be unmanageable, or increase the number of boxes, therefore with increased product cost and shipping cost, etc. Once it's fully up, the design is really quite sturdy. The floor and/or anchoring of the shed is something to give some serious thought to. I didn't have the option to make this a permanent, fixed installation, so instead of bolting the shed to concrete, I arrayed some paver bricks (over 100) on top of my concrete, laid three 4x8 sheets of tongue & groove OSB subfloor on them, and screwed the wood to the paver bricks with Tapcons. This worked out well for me, but required a great deal of planning and forethought to the brick layout.I'll go back to customer service though: they are excellent, and respond quickly. I misunderstood a step related to the roof beams, and they clarified that for me by sending a photo of the completed shed specifically showing what I was asking about, which was very helpful. The only improvement I think could be made is possibly to switch to providing the "installation manual" as an app instead of paper. Could be me and my own aging eyesight, but several of the installation steps would have been clearer if I could have zoomed in for greater detail magnification. There are a few minor misprints in the paper manual, but they were easy to spot and didn't cause any problems for me.I'd definitely suggest that you don't attempt this unless you are a strong DIY type, or are comfortable with assembly, aren't pressed for time, and have access to helpers.
Can't go wrong for the price. A lot of people mention with these sheds that the instructions were too difficult...they are not! Take your time and read them, interpret the photos and you'll be fine. More than likely a bunch of the metal will have corners bent or some kind of denting because the metal is thin and the there's just no getting around it when being shipped unfortunately. Got to keep in mind you're not building the Sistine Chapel and you're only paying a band for a shed. I would have gladly dealt with some scratching on the metal rather than having that god awful cellophane plastic on everything. I think it took more time taking that plastic off than it did to screw everything together. My advice would be to unbox it inside and take it all off while you're watching TV or something because it does get a bit aggravating when you have to stop building for that! Also the plastic washers coming in a breakaway sheet was such a pain too. Wouldn't take much just to have them all as singles in a baggie, but common sense is always a business's top priority. It took my father and I about a day and a half to build it and that includes drilling and anchoring it to the concrete. Alignment of all the holes was pretty much spot on minus having to tweak the metal around to get the holes over each other. I also wish it would have had center supports across the walls because there is more play than I would have liked but no a deal breaker. I may add something or just wait to see how the shelves I put inside help support it. Only thing left to do is to quad caulk around the perimeter inside and out to keep water out. Overall it was pretty simple and I think was worth the savings that it gave rather than paying thousands for a tool shed.
Very happy with my 10X14 shed. It did take a bit of time to set this up correctly, but with the help of a cordless screw gun and my ability to assemble Lego projects, the shed was erected!!! No leaks, sturdy and now packed with STUFF, I am very pleased with my purchase. BTW, the order arrived earlier than projected, all items included each piece was labeled, and without damage. For the $1400.00 I paid for this shed, it certainly was a 5 star transaction all around.
It's worth money. I mean its a 1300 dollar shed for sure but it looks like an 2800 dollar shed. First off it was packed well I didn't get pictures but was neatly packed and i was impressed. Next step peeling the plastic some reviews were pretty dramatic its tedious sure but not a deal breaker it comes of the panels nicely just the smaller parts are tough. We had a nice cool rain Strom while all the panels were laying in the yard so the cool water may have helped idk. I had the wife help build it just follow the directions and take your time everything lines up if your doing it right. Didnt have any issues with holes lining up. It took us about 6-8 hrs. I'm happy with it for the price. I Will update if anything changes.
When you get your delivery, open up the boxes, check to make sure everything is there and start peeling off the protective film from all the pieces!! This will take you a full day but make things easier later. Have you ever gotten a sunburn and in a couple of days it starts peeling? Some skin comes off in large pieces and other comes off in small pieces. As careful as you try to be you will cut just about every fingertip.Make sure to pay attention to the position of your pieces. This is very important because it’s harder to unscrew and fix than doing it right the first time. All in all this shed is great for the price. The more you put together the stronger it gets.Pay close attention to the pictures of the instructions.Oh, and I would definitely anchor it down!
