M130 Self Cleaning Litter Box

I have had a Litter Robot 3 for just over four years, and it has been relatively problem free (occasionally has faults, mostly due to me putting too much litter in). However, it is very tall and I have a kitty with bad hips and noticed him having difficulties getting in/out of the Litter Robot, even with the steps. So, when I saw an ad for the Meowant SC02, I was interested in giving it a try because it has a much lower entry. I finally got one and set it up, and my kitty immediately started using it. He can get in/out MUCH easier, to my relief. Some things I have noticed that I like better about the SC02 compared to the LR3: it is a bit smaller dimensionally; being a tiny bit narrower and much shorter so it may be a better choice if you need it to fit into a smaller space. It is FAR quieter; I can hear my LR3 cycling across the house but barely hear the SC02 cycling when I'm the same room. It also seems more sensitive to a cat's weight that the LR3, which sometimes did not register my kitty who is about 6.5 lbs and on occasion would start to cycle with him in it. The SC02 has no trouble sensing his weight so the risk of it cycling while occupied is significantly reduced. I like that the cycle time isn't limited to specific intervals, and there is more flexibility in programming. I also prefer changing the bin on the SC02 as I don't have to move the steps and pull a tray out from under it. The deodorizer seems to work better as well. I haven't been able to get it to calibrate properly, but it may because we have bare floors during a post flood remodel. Hopefully it will calibrate later on when the new floors are in. It is a bit odd that it doesn't have a power button and can only be power cycled by physically unplugging it. I have heard that the Litter Robot 4 offers the same features that the Meowant has over the LR3, but at more than twice the cost. This is a fairly reasonable price automatic litter box, and it is a safe design that doesn't have a closing mechanism that could trap or crush a cat. It also needs less litter than the LR3. I would highly suggest searching for the separate sifter with smaller holes as the one that comes with it has larger holes that allow waste bits to sneak past. All in all, highly recommend! I hope it lasts a while.Update: I added the above mentioned replacement sifter with the smaller holes as it seems more effective for small particle litter (I recommend leaving the original sifter in for larger format litter like pine), and also a snap on barrier on the bottom of the entrance because someone (and unknown one of my three kitties) peed out the opening more than once. These have definitely helped but the BIGGEST code cracked is how to keep it as clean as possible. Clumps were sticking to the inside of the barrel - just like they would do in my LR - and it was frustrating. So, I cleaned the surfaces really well, wiped down the interior with Armor All and then wiped off the excess, and switched to Arm & Hammer Hardball litter. Not only does the Hardball litter clump tightly, so far none has stuck to the inside of the barrel AND it's a super soft litter which will be more comfortable for little peets.

I have 2 cats. They are older girls and have been trying to find an automatic litter box because they are very picky on how clean they like their boxes. I have 1 downstairs in the bathroom and one upstairs for them. I love that it has a big opening and you can set the delay for cleaning for a long time after the cat uses it. It has a low clearance for entry so it’s easy to get in and out of and it has so many sensors that if even the slightest pressure from a cat getting in will stop it in its tracks. It does a pretty good job of cleaning but it has big sifting openings that I feel still lets a lot of dirty clumps back through but that could be me needing to try a different brand litter. It has a shake option for bigger grains? Of litter to help clean those. The box does not seem to record my cats weight properly because it’s on Carpet and not Hard floor so I did buy a dog kennel plastic tray to put under it. That helps a little but it records my 20 lb cat at 14-15 lbs and my 9 lbs cat 4-6 lbs. it seems to fluctuate a lot. But since I have such a big difference in cat weights I can pretty much tell which cat has gone and it lets you assign weights on the App and it will tell you which cat has used it. I get a lot of exploring entry’s where they don’t go in all the way but it thinks a cat has entered but that’s fine, I have the timer set to clean 10 min after they have gone to give them plenty of time to decide to use it. They say it’s not great for small kittens as it can’t recognize the weight of them accurately. It was easy to put together and it does have a little weight to it but it’s not to heavy that I can’t take it apart and clean and move it. It’s way cheaper than the popular Brand litter robot so if you want a entry level one to try it out then I would definitely recommend it. I have a 20lb main coon mix that fits comfortably in it.

I've had this litter box for over a year now, and it's still running strong. The open box design works great for my 3 boys, with the heaviest at 16 pounds. It was a slight transition, but after a few weeks I was able to take away the regular litter box and have not had any issues.The app is decent, but it's not the best. Sometimes the cats don't go all the way in the box and kind of lean, so it tries to register the lesser weight as an unknown cat. It's not reliable to know when which cat used it due to that and because 2 of my cats are pretty similar in weight.I use arm and hammer platinum clumping litter and set it to clean 10 minutes after the cats use it. That gives the clumps time to harden, so I don't have as hard of a time with anything getting stuck to the rake. With 2 of my boys using it daily, I change out the bags about every 3 days or so. I love it over having to scoop multiple times a day and it saves a ton of time.Overall I recommend it for the price and reliability.

The best invention ever. I have five cats and purchased three of these robots over a period of one every two months. I bought the second litter robot two months after the first one. And since I was so delighted with the first two litter robots, two months later, I ordered the third one.These litter robots are Wi-Fi enabled and have an app that is user-friendly and keeps up with the activity of each litter box, I.e… which cat is using the box based on their weight (I had input each Cat’s weight and name into the app), and their duration in the robot. I also receive notifications in real time on my phone about robot usage. I gave each robot a different name so that I would know which cat is using which robot. The app is very user-friendly and keeps track of so much information regarding my cats. I simply had to input all the necessary information into the app initially and the machine does all the rest.And the robot will never start a cleaning cycle until the cat leaves the unit. It can determine whether or not the unit is occupied based on any weight that has stepped into the robot. There is an indicator light to let you know when the unit is occupied. There is absolutely no danger of the unit starting a cleaning cycle if there is a cat inside. The litter robot can determine if there is a cat inside the unit because of the weight of any cat. Once the cat vacates said unit, the robot is set to clean one minute after the cat exits.It is very easy to exchange waste bags on the unit when they get full. The waste receptacle is very easy to lift out of the unit in order to put in a new litter bag. I have found that Fresh Step kitty litter works for me as it clumps very well and does not leave much litter residue inside the barrel. Other litters that don’t clump well will leave too much moisture behind for the litter to attach to around the inside walls. If you don’t use decent clumping litter, the unit will simply leak unclumped urine and used granular residue will accumulate when the unit spins to clean itself. So do yourself a favor and use reputable kitty litter as it will make a big difference in how the unit performs. Not to mention, with subpar litters, the wet grains will stick to the cat’s feet and cause a big problem in your house and in their sleeping areas. I found myself having to clean out their paws between their toes and pads to keep from tracking the litter everywhere as it was so damp inside the box and easily stuck to their feet. I only made that mistake one time with a certain kitty litter that did not meet the standard.

This has been a significant advancement for me. The convenience has been unparalleled. The setup was straightforward, the opening is ideal, the noise level is minimal and the user interface is intuitive. I have been using it for over a month now and there has been no odor whatsoever. Cleaning the machine was also effortless when necessary. Since I have only one cat, I replace the liner at least once a week. There has been no odor from my experience. I did reach out to customer service with some basic inquiries and they responded promptly due to the different time zones. Their exceptional customer service further enhanced the experience. This machine is undoubtedly worth the investment. I highly recommend it to everyone. You will need to determine the appropriate time for self-cleaning after your cat uses the litter box. For me, 20 minutes is optimal. However, it is crucial to ensure that you do not clean the litter less than 10 minutes after your cat uses it, as this will prevent the litter from clumping and result in messiness. Therefore, I recommend taking responsibility and monitoring the time interval after your cat uses the litter box for self-cleaning. As with any new product, patience is essential to determine what works best for you and your cat. My cat immediately embraced the litter box. There was no need for transition; she understood its purpose and handled her business effectively. I promptly removed her old litter box. If you seek a reliable and hassle-free litter box, this is the ideal solution. Even extended vacations, such as the one I recently took for over a week, can be enhanced by using this litter box.
