The Felinexis Smart Scoop Cat Litter Box is equipped with infrared sensors both in front and inside the smart cat litter box, so during the cycle of dumping the self cleaning cat litter box stops when the infrared sensor senses movement into and around this cat litter box, making it completely safe for all pets.

It normally calibrates itself when plugged to into a power source, so you shouldn't experience this problem.
